Kiss the Ring

Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Craig O'Neill ("we", "us"), who runs Kiss the Ring (the "game"). By creating a character or playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't play.

Zero tolerance. There is no place in Kiss the Ring for objectionable content or abusive players. Anything that breaks the conduct rules below will be removed, and players who post it will be warned, suspended or removed from the game. You can report any player or anything they write from inside the game, and block anyone from talking to you. We act on reports within 24 hours.

Who can play

You must be at least 18 years old, and an adult where you live. Kiss the Ring is a game about organized crime: it has violence and weapons, crime themes, references to drugs and alcohol, and rough language between players.

Your account

You can play without signing in, as a guest. A guest's character lives on that phone: save it with Sign in with Apple to keep it if the phone is lost, and to buy Gold Coins or send gifts. A guest character nobody plays for 30 days is deleted.
Keep your Apple Account secure: anything done from your account is on you.
One account per person. Don't sell, trade or share accounts.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it is permanent.

How to behave

Fighting, robbing, marking and trash talk are the game. Taking it outside the game is not. Don't post, as a name, tagline, emoji signature, portrait, comment, bulletin or anything else:

slurs, or hate towards anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age;
sexual content, or anything sexual involving a minor, ever;
threats of real-world harm, or encouragement of self-harm;
harassment: following a player around to torment them, or organizing others to;
anyone's personal information, including your own: real names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, social accounts;
spam, scams, or links to other services;
impersonation of another player, of us, or of a real person.

Also don't:

cheat: use bots, scripts, modified clients, or bugs you know about;
run more than one account to help yourself, or farm another player's account;
attack or overload the game's servers.

We check what players write before it's saved and remove what breaks these rules. If the writer allows it, an AI system (Anthropic's Claude) reviews reports and may remove a comment that clearly breaks these rules; anything it isn't sure of goes to a person. A person decides every warning and suspension.

The characters

The city's characters, from Big Tony and Sal to the bosses, are not real people. With your permission, they're run by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. What they say is generated, can be wrong, and isn't advice about anything outside the game. Our Privacy Policy explains what they see.

What you post

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give us permission to store it, show it to other players and use it to run the game, for as long as it's in the game. Only upload a Custom Portrait that you have the right to use. We review every portrait before other players see it, and may decline one without giving a reason.

Gold Coins and purchases

Gold Coins, Elixirs and special items are a licence to use part of the game, not property. They have no cash value, can't be sold or exchanged outside the game, and can't be cashed out.
Purchases are made through Apple and follow Apple's terms. Refunds are Apple's to grant; we don't refund purchases ourselves, except where the law requires it.
The game's money, items, properties and levels are part of the game and can change as we balance it.

Changes and availability

Kiss the Ring is being built and is currently in beta. Features, prices and balance will change, the game may be reset during the beta, and it may be unavailable at times. We may change these terms; if we make a significant change we'll tell you in the game, and continuing to play means you accept it.

Ending things

You can stop playing and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms. If we shut the game down, we'll give notice in the game first where we can.

The legal part

The game is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losing in-game items, currency or progress. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law that can't be limited. Apple isn't responsible for the game or these terms.
